The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau State has applauded the successful completion of what it called a “violence free election” in Plateau State.
The religious body said there was sense of fulfilment because the people conducted themselves in a matured manner.
A statement signed by the state CAN Chairman, Rev. Soja Bewarang and Secretary, Rev. Polycarp Lubo, stated that “prior to the elections, analysis on the probable nature of the elections had Plateau mentioned among crisis prone states, but to God be the glory there were no records of killings, maiming and assault on individuals as witnessed in some states.”
The statement commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agents and the citizens of the state for the matured manner they conducted themselves before, during and after the re-run elections.
