The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Plateau State , Mr Halilu Pai, on Monday visited the Jos University Teaching Hospital where the seven corps members who were injured on election duties are being treated.
It was learnt that the affected members of the National Youth Service Corps who were posted to Jos East Council Area for the governorship and House of Assembly elections were returning to Jos when their vehicle was involved in a road accident on Sunday morning.
Although none of the occupants of the vehicle died, many of them were said to have sustained varying degrees of injury.
Pai told The PUNCH that the road accident was a “terrible one”.
Pai, who spoke through the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mr Osaretin Imahiyereobo, confirmed that none of the corps members died in the auto crash.
