Voters apathy marred the governorship and state House of Assembly election in parts of Plateau State on Saturday as most of the voters who turned out for the presidential and National Assembly election refused to participate in this Saturday’s electoral process in protest of the cancellation of results of several polling units by INEC polling officers.
Governor Simon Lalong who voted at his Ajikamai country home at noon on Saturday with his wife Reginal Lalong, said he was confident that he would win this election and thereby called on his opponents to accept the outcome of the election in good faith.
According to Governor Lalong, his state will witness more dividends of democracy in his second term.
On the other hand, the PDP Governorship candidate in the state, General Jeremiah Useni cast his vote at Langtang North Polling Unit by 10.am and used the event to call on Plateau voters to turn out en masse to vote him into power, saying power lies with the people.
