Doctors of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), at the weekend, distributed relief materials to over 200 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as well as orphans in Jos, Plateau State Capital.

The doctors under the aegis of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), reached the beneficiaries who were camped at the House Reccab Orphanage in Jos with the materials.

ARD President Dr Paul Agbo said the gesture was part of the association’s corporate social responsibility to the society.

“The House of Reccab in Jos has been the home of the less privileged. Some of the people here are not from Plateau State and as medical doctors, we feel we have a duty to cushion the effect of what they have been passing through, not just medically but materially, as part of our corporate social responsibility,” he said.

In his remarks, Director of House of Reccab, Sam Akaka, thanked the doctors for the gesture.

The items distributed included bags of rice, maize, cartons of indomie noodles, toiletries and cash.
